From Survival Mode to Thriving: Rebuild Your Confidence & Self-Worth | Sophie Berry

Tue, 15 Sep 2026
Mary Farias & Sophie Berry
Economy Creators
Have you spent so much time taking care of everyone else that somewhere along the way, you lost yourself?

In this episode of Economy Creators, Mary Reiss Farias sits down with **Sophie Berry, Master Life Coach and NLP Practitioner**, to talk about survival mode, self-worth, limiting beliefs, confidence, motherhood, self-image, and what happens when a woman finally begins choosing herself again.

Sophie has spent 28 years as a diagnostic radiographer, helping people through moments that are often frightening and uncertain. Now she's taking the skills, compassion, and experiences she's accumulated throughout that career and building a coaching business designed to help women on a deeper level.

Her focus is personal.

Sophie works with women who have spent years raising children, working, supporting families, and caring for everyone around them—while continually putting themselves last.

She knows that experience because she lived it.

For years, Sophie saw herself as a **survivor** and felt that life was happening *to* her.

Today, she sees things differently.

Instead of asking why circumstances happened to her, she began asking what those experiences had developed within her.

She even replaced one identity with another:

**Survivor → Conqueror.**

In this conversation, Mary and Sophie explore:

• What it means to live in survival mode
• Why women and mothers can lose themselves while caring for everyone else
• Questioning thoughts with: **“According to who?”**
• How limiting beliefs influence self-worth and confidence
• Sophie's experience with Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)
• How she approaches belief-change work with clients
• Timeline therapy and examining past experiences from a new perspective
• Moving from “life happens to me” to “life happens for me”
• Why repetition is essential for building confidence
• Using a self-image script to become the person you want to be
• Simple breathing practices for slowing down and thinking more clearly
• Releasing inherited beliefs about what a “good mother” should be
• Creating time for yourself without guilt
• The importance of asking for help
• Developing personal non-negotiables
• Sophie's transition from employee to entrepreneur

Sophie also shares something especially important for anyone who wants to build a new chapter without immediately leaving their existing career.

She once believed she couldn't successfully build her coaching business while continuing her nine-to-five.

Then she questioned the belief.

Why couldn't she build both?

Today, Sophie is intentionally building her coaching practice alongside her radiography career, with a vision of gradually reducing her hours as her business grows.

That's a YOU-Shaped Economy in action.

You don't necessarily have to destroy what exists to create what's next.

**You can begin building from where you are.**

And for the woman who has spent years putting everyone else first, Sophie's message is beautifully simple:

**Believe in yourself. You can do way more than you think you can.**

Can Technology Really Save us From Poverty

Tue, 15 Sep 2026
Can technology really save us from poverty?

We hear it all the time:
Learn tech. Get a remote job. Start a business. Change your life.
And yes, technology has opened doors that many of us never had before.

But access isn't equal.
Not everyone has the laptop, internet, money, connections, mentorship or time to take advantage of those opportunities.

So I’m asking:
Can technology really create a way out of poverty or are we sometimes just giving people a front-row seat to opportunities they still can't afford to access?
In this episode of Tech With Myla, we’re looking at both sides poverty, technology, AI, digital access, children, women in tech and business, and the question of whether where you start should determine where you finish.

Because I believe something strongly:
Poverty can write a path for you, but it doesn't have to write the ending.
The sky has enough space for everyone. 🌍💻

Unbecoming to Become

Tess Booker and Kelly Meyers
Brilliant Minds & Beautiful Souls: Where Executive Minds Meet Intuitive Wisdom.
Unbecoming Who You Are Not: Rediscovering Your Authentic Self | Dr. Kelly Meyer

Who are you when you stop defining yourself by your roles, expectations, accomplishments, and what everyone else has told you you're supposed to be?

On this episode of Brilliant Minds & Beautiful Souls, Tess Booker welcomes Dr. Kelly Meyer, international transformational coach, speaker, author, and founder of Project Find Your Fire, for a conversation about identity, love, emotional awareness, and the ongoing process of becoming more authentically ourselves.

Kelly shares his own journey of self-discovery and the experiences that led him to become deeply curious about human behavior. After nearly 30 years of coaching individuals and groups, facilitating experiences, and speaking, his work centers on helping people recognize the identities and patterns they've accumulated—and begin unbecoming what no longer belongs to them.

Together, Tess and Kelly explore how often we confuse our roles with our identity. Parent. Partner. Entrepreneur. Leader. Coach. Professional. Those roles may describe parts of our lives, but they don't necessarily answer the deeper question: Who am I?

The conversation moves into emotional intelligence, relationships, finding your tribe, and Kelly's perspective that love isn't simply something we feel—it's something we practice.

As Kelly puts it, “I experience the same emotions you do, I just choose not to live there.”

In This Conversation

You'll hear reflections around:

• Kelly's personal journey of self-discovery
• Reevaluating and reinventing ourselves through different seasons of life
• The process of “unbecoming” what isn't authentically ours
• Separating identity from titles, roles, and accomplishments
• How societal expectations influence our sense of self
• Emotional awareness and choosing what we do with our emotions
• Kelly's perspective on love as a muscle that strengthens through practice
• Transferring strengths and attributes across different roles in life
• The “airplane question” as an exercise in authentic self-expression
• Finding relationships and communities where you can genuinely belong
• What happens when an old tribe no longer fits who you're becoming
• The relationship between self-awareness, mindset, and personal transformation
• Kelly's zebras-and-lions analogy for understanding social behavior
• Learning to love the process of discovering who you are

One of the strongest ideas in this conversation is that personal growth doesn't always require becoming someone new.

Sometimes it asks us to remove what we've accumulated—the expectations, identities, labels, and ways of being that were never truly ours.

And that creates room to discover what remains.

As Kelly says:

“If your tribe cuts you out, you're now free to find your real tribe.”

A Question to Carry With You

If you removed your titles, responsibilities, accomplishments, and the roles you play for everyone else, how would you describe who you are?
